The dirt that deep was BLACK, as you can tell from Jett's body...he was COVERED and mighty proud of it, too.

The smell of clean
This conversation took place this afternoon while Avery was going potty.
Avery: "Mom, what is this smell?"
Mom: "What smell?"
Avery: "Did you clean the potty?"
Mom: "Yes, I had to wipe the toliet down with Clorox"
Avery: "I thought so. It smells good in here"
So thank you to my 4 year old daughter for recognizing a clean bathroom. I think that is the first time anyone has acknowledge a clean toliet. Made my day!

FHE at the HAUGHT'S

It started off with a little swing time! And moved on to bubbles. Next was some baseball. It was capped off with a teeny lesson and the weekly Haught family fhe dance party.

Mother's Day

My Mother's Day was wonderful. My darling husband and kids made me breakfast in bed which they brought to me with their ADORABLE pictures. And when I came out to the kitchen, everything had been cleaned up already. Then my darling dad made dinner for all the girls after church. He rounded up the husbands and put them to work in the kitchen making all sorts of delicious salads....which when Tyler saw he said to me, "What are the kids going to eat?" which I'm pretty sure meant "What am I going to eat?"

"I think I have a fever"
So yesterday morning, after my delicious breakfast in bed, I came out into the family room to find a wet rag on the couch. This is how it all went down.
Duce: "Dad, I don't feel good. I think I have a fever."
Tyler feels his head: "Yup, you do feel a little warm."
Duce: "Do I have to go to church today?"
Tyler: "Well, I guess not, if you have a fever."
Jett: "HEY, GET ME A HOT RAG SO I CAN PUT IT ON MY HEAD AND STAY HOME, TOO!"
Thank you , Uncle Jordan, for teaching my son how to fake a fever. A few weeks ago, Duce kept complaining that Jett was aloud to skip school....Jett had croup and sounded like death! He went as far as to say Jett was faking it to get out of school. When I offered Jett some medicine, he said no....that it was gross. Duce took that to mean that he didn't really want to get better! Jordan took pity on Duce and took matters into his own hands. So anyway...mental note to me....when approached by a child claiming a fever...look around for hot rags first!

uh....whoa

Even with 5 kids, my fear is not being able to spend enough quality one on one time with each of them....there is no way these kids get enough one on one time, can there? And at some point, you have got to run out of "J" names...they have a "Jinger"....maybe I ought to tell them about the best two "J" names there are....JETT and JOSIE!

NO TV challenge

So our bishop challenged us to turn of the TV for a whole week. And to tell you the truth, it hasn't been too bad. The kids were a little cranky about it, but have adjusted. I have missed my reality shows...but I've been able to catch up on a little reading...should I be embarassed that Harry Potter has hooked me. I did the first book on CD a few months ago and read the second one. This week I read the third and have started the fourth! I LOVE IT. Tyler will kiss me good night and roll his eyes as he turns over to avoid the glare from my lamp as I have been up way past my bedtime reading about wizards and muggles. I am SO looking forward to tonight when the kids are in bed and I can get in bed, under the covers and start my book again!
