Post #4 Muddy Kids of Mine!

So this is more from Memorial Day, I just thought it deserved its own post. Jett and Henry decided to start digging a hole...and dig they did! They got this thing so big and wide, when Jett was down in it, all you could see was the top of his mohawk!

The dirt that deep was BLACK, as you can tell from Jett's body...he was COVERED and mighty proud of it, too.

Even Avery and Josie got in on the action...but we not permitted to dig in the boys' hole. They had to dig on their own.

This is out last holiday in Florida before we move, so my parents decided to invite some good ole friends over to their house for a bon voyage get together. There was lots of food, fun, sun, and play had by all! We had quite a turn out...the Borchardts, Pratts, Sniders, Melicks (Linnea with her broken arm and all), Farnsworths, Sorroughs, Ryans, Sagers, Apontes, Bishops, Flores, Howes, Fortes...I know there were more, I'm just drawing a blank. And of course the family was there!
This is probably one of my new favorite pictures EVER! Emily looks beautiful and Jo is so darn cute!
Nothing like trying to take a picture of yourself. Hopefully Christine will be the next Munns girl!
We tried hard to get Josie and Chloe to look at the camera and smile...no luck. Daniel brought his air boat and was generous enough to let any and all go for a ride. Avery did NOT like it. She kept covering her ears whenever he would start it up. It does get pretty loud.

The Quigley cousins came over for dinner on Sunday and got to spend them night since Memorial Day was the very next day. Henry, Gordon, Jett, Aidan, and Duce all got into Grandma and Go-dad's huge bed to watch Inspector Gadget 2. Within seconds of laying down, Jett was out!

Post #1 Swimming With Uncle Jordan

So this is what my kids live for....going swimming at Grandma's house. And to make it even better....have Uncle Jordan get in the pool with them. He is so patient with all their demands for throwing and canonballs and dives and mayhem. And he can really toss them high!
Being the biggest, its a little harder to throw Duce high, so he settles for a good flipping

Jett can ball himself into the perfect cannonball and Duce has a pretty sweet backflip.

Summer Hawks

You know it's summer time when the Anderson boys sport their summer hawks!

Speaking of mohawks....what would you think if a new family moved into your ward and their two boys had mohawks??? Do we just buzz the boys before getting to our new ward or do we leave mohawks???? Will people get the wrong impression of us...think our kids are misfits? Or will people think, "Hey, they look like cool people. We want to be friends with them."?

The smell of clean

This conversation took place this afternoon while Avery was going potty.

Avery: "Mom, what is this smell?"
Mom: "What smell?"
Avery: "Did you clean the potty?"
Mom: "Yes, I had to wipe the toliet down with Clorox"
Avery: "I thought so. It smells good in here"

So thank you to my 4 year old daughter for recognizing a clean bathroom. I think that is the first time anyone has acknowledge a clean toliet. Made my day!

FHE at the HAUGHT'S

Kara & Sam invited us over for Family Home Evening on Monday night.

It started off with a little swing time! And moved on to bubbles. Next was some baseball. It was capped off with a teeny lesson and the weekly Haught family fhe dance party.
Now that's how to end a day!

The teams were split up as follows
the "A" team: Tyler-Erika-Duce-Josie
the "H" team: Sam-Kara-Austin-Jett-Avery
Duce was the first to slam it out of the park for the night's first home run!

What's up, EFY!

When I was looking for a picture of me and my mom for my mother's day post, I came across this gem! There where so many....oh so many! I even found one of us posing with Tim Nowatzke...yeah, he still gives me a hard time about that whenever Tyler and I have hung out with him! So here's a shout out right back at you, jamie....and shannon and sarah...EFY, baby---enough said!

Mother's Day

Duce made this in church Sunday....I just LOVE it!

My Mother's Day was wonderful. My darling husband and kids made me breakfast in bed which they brought to me with their ADORABLE pictures. And when I came out to the kitchen, everything had been cleaned up already. Then my darling dad made dinner for all the girls after church. He rounded up the husbands and put them to work in the kitchen making all sorts of delicious salads....which when Tyler saw he said to me, "What are the kids going to eat?" which I'm pretty sure meant "What am I going to eat?"

But what can Mother's Day be without mentioning my own DARLING mother and mother-in-law. I love my mom and think she really is te worlds all time greatest mom. If I can do half the things she can and did when we were little, then DANG! And sweet little Mary June....if it wasn't for her wonderfulness, who knows what kind of man I would have married. I have many times said that I think I've got the best in-laws in my family! And look how amazing they both look!

I came across this picture of me and my mom at my new beginnings...I totally remember her dress and mine for that matter! This is Shelly's shoulder pad theory in action.....literally her shoulder pads and my bangs!

"I think I have a fever"

So yesterday morning, after my delicious breakfast in bed, I came out into the family room to find a wet rag on the couch. This is how it all went down.

Duce: "Dad, I don't feel good. I think I have a fever."
Tyler feels his head: "Yup, you do feel a little warm."
Duce: "Do I have to go to church today?"
Tyler: "Well, I guess not, if you have a fever."
Jett: "HEY, GET ME A HOT RAG SO I CAN PUT IT ON MY HEAD AND STAY HOME, TOO!"

Thank you , Uncle Jordan, for teaching my son how to fake a fever. A few weeks ago, Duce kept complaining that Jett was aloud to skip school....Jett had croup and sounded like death! He went as far as to say Jett was faking it to get out of school. When I offered Jett some medicine, he said no....that it was gross. Duce took that to mean that he didn't really want to get better! Jordan took pity on Duce and took matters into his own hands. So anyway...mental note to me....when approached by a child claiming a fever...look around for hot rags first!

uh....whoa

So I think I have a lot of kids....I saw this on the news...the Duggars are pregnant with #18. That baby you see in the picture is 9 months old now and she is due on New Years Day....I don't even know what to think of this...good for her?

Even with 5 kids, my fear is not being able to spend enough quality one on one time with each of them....there is no way these kids get enough one on one time, can there? And at some point, you have got to run out of "J" names...they have a "Jinger"....maybe I ought to tell them about the best two "J" names there are....JETT and JOSIE!

NO TV challenge

So our bishop challenged us to turn of the TV for a whole week. And to tell you the truth, it hasn't been too bad. The kids were a little cranky about it, but have adjusted. I have missed my reality shows...but I've been able to catch up on a little reading...should I be embarassed that Harry Potter has hooked me. I did the first book on CD a few months ago and read the second one. This week I read the third and have started the fourth! I LOVE IT. Tyler will kiss me good night and roll his eyes as he turns over to avoid the glare from my lamp as I have been up way past my bedtime reading about wizards and muggles. I am SO looking forward to tonight when the kids are in bed and I can get in bed, under the covers and start my book again!
