Pumpkin Carving FHE

For FHE last night, Shanda and Jordan invited some of their friends over for a pumpkin carving contest. Not all of my pics turned out...so I'm only posted the "not fuzzy" ones. Good times had by all!
This is Duce's. He did it all by himself. The only thing I did was clean the pumpkin out and clean up his cut lines. He did a great job!
This is Avery's. She took one look inside the pumpkin and said NO WAY! She just dictated to me what she wanted it to look like...scary. So here is my attempt at scary!
This is Jett's. He did his all byhimself also. Again, all I did was clean out te pumpkin and clean the cut lines.
Here are the kids pumpkins all lined up together.
this is shanda and jordan's...too bad you can't see the AMAZING eye lashes
This is Devin's (Jordan's friend) His was my favorite!
This is Amanda's (Devin's wife)

Saturday at the park

With Tyler and Jordan in washington DC for their football game (which last check they were WINNING!) Shanda and I had to entertain the kids so we went to the school park. It was a little chilly, but FUN!
We swang on the swings (now that I'm older, the longer I swing, sicker I feel!)
We played football!
Duce peed - - - - - - -we rode bikes - - - - - - - - we raced
we slid down the slide

We played on the playground
We did flips..actually I did flips....yup, I still got it!

I really though shanda was going to fall on her head! She did indeed fall, but no bones were broken! Too bad I didn't get it on film!

School Pictures

Jett Cassell Anderson - Kindergarten . . . . . . . . . Duce Tyler Anderson - 1st grade

These came home the the school folders today. Jett's is the one that cracked me up...I KNOW that he did NOT leave the house with that necklace on. He snuck it to school and must have thought, "I am going to look GOOD". As far as Duce goes, I'm just glad his two front teeth are "tucked" in!

Another try at an Anderson family picture

It is SO hard to get a good family picture. One kids is crying....one doesn't want to get in the picture...another is making WEIRD faces...and the rest are trying to copy the weird faces! With 5 little kids, I have given up on the "perfect" family picture....we aren't a "perfect" family so I guess these pictures fit us just fine!
(since when do my ears stand out like mickey mouse????)
Grandma and Go-dad Munns were here this weekend for Tyler and Jordan's football game! We LOVE when they are here!
Jordan and Shanda with mom and dad!

Mountain Day in Buena Vista

Shanda and Avery at Mountain Day

(Dcue, Jett, Avery playing the "mountain" version of horse shoes---racing to fill their piggy banks with pennies)
Buena Vista hosted what they call "MOUNTIAN DAY". It is a festival celebrating the mountain heritage of this little town. There were booths lining the main drag for three blocks. There were fun kids games, Indian history with a real Teepee, a few farmers produce stands, community and business information booths....and the ASPCA was there and I was THIS CLOSE to leaving with a teeny kitty! Tyler wasn't there, obviously, otherwise he would have FORBIDDEN it...( I will get a kitty!) The kids had fun, loved the balloons and booths.

Mom and Dad Munns were there and mom made a spinach and eggplant lasagna for dinner from the farmers produce. (We all agreed that it was NOT a winner....but amazingly enough, Tyler ate all of his portion!)

sick Avery...sick Erika

Poor Avery came home from preschool last week and was very grumpy. After hearing A LOT of whimpering and whining, I finally felt her head and sure enough...she had a raging fever. The fever lasted a few days, then came on the runny NASTY nose. That lasted a few more days. Poor girl's upper lip got so chapped from all the blowing and wiping. Thank heavens for Motrin and comfy jammies!

Ok, so I'm not sick, but in the spirit of being "real", I posted these not so great pictures of me and Josie. Recently I've read a few posts about how blogs are the best of someones life....that only the best pics are posted, only the best stories told. And I find myself being guilty of that. So many times I take pictures of me with the kids and DON'T post them because of how I look. So I've come to the realization that maybe those pics are the real me....that the good ones are the fluke. So here I am...in all my no make-up, still in my pajamas, no more summer tan, probably haven't washed my hair in a few days, glory! And more days then not, this is what you get!
